Bremen has established itself as a prime location for trade fairs and conferences, but it is also showcasing its strengths on the international stage. By exhibiting at joint stands, organisations have the opportunity to reach out to a global audience. The Federal State of Bremen will be represented at the following events during 2019.
MIPIM 2019
The MIPIM in France, which took place this year from 12 to 15 March, attracts key players from all sectors of the international real estate market. Around 24,000 delegates have the opportunity to meet with 3,100 exhibiting companies from 100 countries, among them 5,400 investors. It brings the entire value chain together and provides access to real estate development projects and sources of capital from all over the world.
Bremen was at the event in the German Pavilion for cities and regions, and presented some of the exciting development projects that are currently under way in Bremen and Bremerhaven, in collaboration with major players from Bremen’s property scene – Justus Grosse Projektentwicklung GmbH, Robert C. Spies Gewerbe & Investment GmbH & Co. KG, and Zech Immobilien GmbH. The subject of inner city development was a particular area of focus. The Federal State of Bremen was also able to contribute its expertise as a leading shipping port and logistics hub.
35th Space Symposium
From 8 to 11 April 2019, Bremen will be demonstrating its specialist expertise in the field of in aerospace at the 35th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, USA – this time as an exhibitor at the German Aerospace Center stand. First held in 1984, this event brings together leading figures from the space industry, providing opportunities to network, exchange ideas and plan new projects. More than 9,000 delegates from all over the world are expected to attend.
The event is widely regarded as the largest symposium for the aerospace industry in the USA. It includes a wide-ranging programme of discussion panels with representatives from government and scientific organisations in every specialist field, as well as a high-calibre industry and technology trade show, which opens up networking and marketing opportunities for leading representatives from science and industry.
Space Tech Expo USA
In May, Bremen will be heading to another aerospace event, this time the Space Tech Expo USA, which is taking place on 21 and 22 May 2019 in Pasadena, USA. It focuses on space technology, showcasing the latest developments from technical designers, subsystem suppliers and manufacturers, as well as components and system integrators for civilian, military and commercial applications. The exhibition is accompanied by the Space Tech Conference.
Launched in California in 2011, the Space Tech Expo was attended by 3,452 delegates in 2018. Its European offshoot, Space Tech Expo Europe, was inaugurated in 2015 and has taken place in Bremen every two years since then (see below).
Breakbulk Europe
Bremen is a major shipping and logistics hub at national and international level. It is perfectly placed to host Breakbulk Europe, the largest exhibition for breakbulk cargo and heavy cargo logistics, which will be returning to Bremen for a second time from 21 to 23 May 2019. It is an opportunity for experts from all areas of the project cargo and breakbulk industry to meet and do business. Around 600 exhibitors and 11,000 visitors are expected.
The Federal State of Bremen will be represented by the international Bremeninvest brand at the exhibition stand of bremenports, which operates the ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Staying with this subject, Bremeninvest will be co-exhibiting at the bremenports stand once again at the transport logistic exhibition in Munich, from 4 to 7 June 2019. This leading international trade fair for logistics, transport, IT and supply chain management, which takes place every two years, is a key meeting place for the industry. It expects to attract over 2,000 exhibitors from 62 countries and more than 60,000 visitors from 123 countries this year.
Exhibition areas include IT, telematics, e-business and telecommunications, intralogistics, warehouse management systems, auto ID and packaging, equipment for freight transport, and services for freight transport and logistics.
